god i hate ai so much
i hate ai art. and i hate it when it gets popular, and everyone that CLAIMED to hate ai is suddenly on board. "ooo me as an arcane filter" shut your MMMOUTH
i hate ai features. NONE OF IT is helpful. NONE OF IT is needed.
i hate ai image and video generation. i hate when it gets popular. i hate that stupid dancing ai cats videos
i hate "artists" that try and pass off ai art as their own, or post ai art proudly. it looks awful. i dont care if the shading is on point, if its perfect anatomy, if nothing in it is "wrong". it doesn't, and will never have, soul. and without soul your "art" is GARBAGE. Art without any human input is GARBAGE. YOU are GARBAGE. and everything you """make""" is GARBAGE.
i hate ai. i hate ai. i hate it i hate it i haaaate it. seeing something ai generated or an ai feature literally ruins my day.
PHEW okay i got it all out of me

since @anaalnathrakhs wanted me to put my dm thoughts into post format and @crueclown22 wanted to know more about the pet play AU, here you go:
the dirty fuckin dog Nikki photoset (+ bonus Mick <3) really got me thinking of ideas way beyond my skill level. have never tried drawing full on kinky sexytimes and idk if I could properly describe the divine images in my brain with either words or art :')
I just...... need almost feral pet play with Nikki as the dog and Mick as the owner.
Nikki being an unhinged beast and Mick still somehow managing to harness that beastly energy to his own benefit aughhh
I need need need to see Mick guiding feral dog energy Nikki in how to fuck him the way Mick likes it. Technically he may be getting dicked down but he's still in full control of Nikki.
(in response to the beautiful fic this idea spawned) also kinda hoping in this universe Mick lets Nikki bite him at least once sometime. Leave pretty pretty bruises on his pale skin that don't fade for weeks š
I'm just. so insane about it all. Nikki managing to behave and Mick calling him good boy...... š or letting Nikki nip and bite and lick and nuzzle every inch of Mick's body he can get to, trying to show Mick how much he needs him and loves him. Also laying claim to him. Nikki might not have scent glands like an animal would but he tries to rub his scent all over Mick nonetheless.
Mick internally being on cloud 9 because holy shit the unhinged amount of attention Nikki is showering him with is nothing like he's ever experienced and it's so addicting to him, even better than booze or drugs
tbh at first I thought Tommy was the dog/werewolf of the band but Nikki does have that energy as well, maybe that's why they're the terror Twins
...
Tommy and Nikki tag teaming Mick.... š Nikki would be more feral and unhinged and Tommy would be more playful like a young dog, meaning well but very forceful in his excitement
At least Vince isn't quite as feral. I picture him as more of a pampered little lapdog, all bark and almost no bite. Not nearly as troublesome as Nikki and Tommy teamed up
Thinking about Vince crawling into Mick's lap whenever he wants, to get pet and pampered, Mick indulges him 75% of the time, running his fingers through the blonde locks because it keeps Vince docile enough to make him somewhat pleasant to be around. Nikki haaaates it, just sitting in the corner, grinding his teeth, because that should be him
BONUS:
whenever Vince gets too unruly/horny for Mick to handle on his own (or when he's simply too tired to deal with Vince's insatiable hunger) he tells his other two dogs to help him out, calm their fellow pup down in certain ways iykwim š
#under a readmore because holy shit these notes are LONG#robin's writing adventures#<- not quite but i don't wanna lose this idea in the void of my blog lmao#polycrue#pet play au#nikkimick

Six more reviews about two Graywolf African Fiction prize recipients, two LeGuins, a disappointment, and a nice surprise.
Ursula K. Le Guin, Conversations on Writing - I actually have minimal memory of this too but I remember having a lot of fun with it. Love hearing Le Guin on anything āļø
Alexandre Dumas, The count of Monte cristo- the introduction included a passionate and self-conscious defense of "People call it immature, but if it was immature, would it have... murder violence and lesbianism?!"
Good to know the same lines are being used for equally mediocre works years later.
My actual thoughts on it: it was good until the main character got out of prison. Everything after that was just boring drivel about how successful hed become. I haaaate when people complain about classics with a smug "clear he was paid per word" but. It's clear he was paid per word š
Khadija Abdalla Bajaber, The House of Rust - one of the best I read this year. Fresh and beautiful fantasy, exactly what the genre needs. Heartfelt without being cloying, actually so fantastical, in a setting so far from me yet so vivid with how Bajaber paints it. I was struck with wonder throughout.
A great exploration of a father daughter relationship, and of a young girl feeling at odds with the expectations of her culture and what she makes of it. I do really really appreciate the way it was done. There's a lot of fantasy narratives that go "but you're a girl" "so what" that end up feeling so wilted and overdone but this one truly truly feels like a young Muslim girl reconciling her difference from the world with so much heart.
When the adventure is done, half the book is still there! speaks to how much love and thought was put into it. Right when I was growing hopeless for the genre a brilliant author proved me wrong. I think the key most of the time is just reading indie publishers and outside west europe and the U.S - hah. Lastly, I think this book has imprinted Mombasa on me. I think of that city now like I know it, even though I've never even been to Kenya.
Mohsin Hamid, The Reluctant Fundamentalist - A short well written book, very straightforward in a way I appreciated. I enjoyed how the story was framed and honestly it was quite thrilling. As an immigrant... I'm perpetually very tired of immigrant trying to fit in stories and I felt this one closer to anything else in terms of how you feel that sense of... betrayal of your third world country in seeing and experiencing all the opulence and freedom of the global north. I'm surprised a book like this was received so well in an immediately post 911 environment. Also Lahore mentioned :)
Noor Naga, If an Egyptian Cannot Speak English - Another recepient of the Graywolf African Fiction Prize. I had very mixed feelings about this one. [SPOILERS]
So I spent this book criticizing it heavily as a piece of fiction - things like finding the author's exploration of an American's return to her country of origin very ... cliche or perhaps overly sugary in it's naivete, very dull in its depiction of privilege. That an upper class American woman could not fathom such a thing as classism made me roll my eyes to the back of my head.
Then comes the big reveal - it's a memoir. I didn't know how to feel about that. In one way I really felt tricked, that I had passed judgment on the author's depiction of her own rape and abusive relationship, slimy from knowing that all the lurid details of her ex partner as a "subject of her colonial gaze" were real down to his death, and doubly annoyed at the main character's whining about how she got called out on twitter for blackfishing and having maids at her mansion. Mostly I felt tricked for even being led to believe it was all fiction.
I never had a positive opinion on autofiction, I always found it very self fellatious, and now I can't change my mind. It's hard to judge a memoir as art, so I simply don't consider it such. I can't say anything else on it.
I will say though.. I think the Graywolf African Fiction prize should perhaps be handed out to people born and raised in Africa, not people who grew up in Manhattan with maids at their feet, moved there, and then wrote a book about how novel the Global South was in its desperation or whatever. But it made me write this much about it so at least that's something.
Ursula K. Le Guin, The Lathe of Heaven - Another Le Guin, with lots of popular quotes you see around like āThe end justifies the means. But what if there never is an end? All we have is means," and "A man can endure the entire weight of the universe for eighty years. It is unreality that he cannot bear." I would totally recommend it for an exciting and meaningful read.
Scifi set in a future, dystopian Portland, Oregon. I interpreted to have strong anti-psychiatry messaging. I say this because I saw comparisons of the relationship between patient/therapist to citizen/state. The state here is a paternalistic liberal beuroacracy that has your life at a whim with an aggressively heartless and utilitarian philosophy, racist and ableist at it's core, disguised as idealism.
I think this is the kind of book that made me feel more things than have thoughts I could articulate, very dreamlike indeed.
2024 Book Review Post
Was making this on bsky, but I hate character limits so here we are
Chinua Achebe - Things Fall Apart: I have nothing to say on this that probably wasn't already said much better. It was absolutely gutwrenching and I want to read more of Achebe's work.
Toni Morrison, Sula - My first Morrison and it was amazing. She's such a master of perspective, when that first person comes out, it's like a flower unfurling into an overpowering fragrance. Every character is a world in their own, and even the town feels like a person. Totally haunting and need to reread to appreciate it more.
Simin Behbahani, A Cup of Sin - exquisite. I discovered Behbahani while I was in Pakistan but couldnt find her poetry avaialble anywhere online or in person so it was the first book I RUSHED to buy when I came to the states. Each rich line drips with imagrey that mixes decadent luridity and beauty. I have a vivid memory of my first horror movie, an indian soap where a woman reached inside a mans chest and squeezed it so he bled from his mouth then licked it up. That's what how I feel when I read her poems (whether I feel like the man or woman is more confused.) I want to learn farsi so bad. Planning on scanning and uploading it so no one suffers without it like I did.
Iraj Pezeshkzad, Hafez in Love - I have a very vague memory of this honestly. I didn't find the prose or plot very but I recall being entertained by court poet drama. It was ok.
Cheon Meong-Kwan, Whale - Im wary that anything described as "sweeping intergenerational drama" is gonna be a dull booker prize bait but wow, this beat the expectations that cliche description set up. Very unique and immediately captures you, I LOVED the honey bee womans plot. Just that one chapter got me. I'm usually good with depictions of sexual violence (done tastefully!!) but I had to stop bc of the gratuitous teen rape. I'll probably try to read it again once I get that archipelago books subscription I want so bad.
Toni Morrison, Recitatif - my second Morrison.. a short story where I spent more time reading essays and reviews on it than the work itself! That's how you know it's good. A race blind story where the author dares you to make presumptions so you can ask yourself why. Even I couldn't help myself from trying to figure out the character's races, then asking why I thought thwt. The cruelty all are capable of in the right conditions.

Ye Massive Tag-back Post
I have been tagged in stuff. I am slow. Apologies for anyone tagged in this XD
5 facts about me that literally know one needs to know
(tagged by @saizoswifeyā)
I get weirdly nervous in grocery checkout lines: I have no idea why. I donāt know if itās like, the feeling of being trapped in a narrow space (if thereās someone behind you and ahead of you), or the like, awkward social chitchat that I am SUPER BAD AT or what but I get weird. I HAAAATE that the nearest grocery store to me does not have self check-out, and I put off grocery shopping to the last minute. I can improvise a speech in front of a crowd of hundreds, I can jump off high ladders, like, Iām not a naturally nervous person I swear Iām not. But grocery stores...
I once broke into an Irish autorepair shop: Sort of. Itās kind of a long story, but when I was a student in Cork likeā¦8 years ago, they told me to stick to the flatlands and I took a wrong turn and got lost up in the hills and I kinda felt like these two guys who kind of showed up behind me were following me. I did the whole ātake a couple of right turnsā and it went from two to four guys and I was getting more and more lost and just like NOOOOPE. And then there was trash can on fire and so I like, half-slid down a little cliff, and snuck through/over a chained shut fence and into what turned out to be a repair shop. There were three older guys sitting there eating pizza, and they just blinked at me so I burst out that hey, there was a trash can on fire (like thatās a reasonable reason to bust in, right?). They asked me if I was the one who set it on fire, I said no, they gave me pizza, we waited for the fire brigade. GOOD TIMES. That was the start of a super, super weird 72 hours.
I despise bananas in smoothies: DESPISE. They POLLUTE them, CONTAMINATING everything with awful, horrid, banana-ness. They are smoothie-ruiners. RUINERS. AWFUL, HORRIBLE, TERRIBAD INGREDIENTS OF EVIL. I like banana bread, and my momās banana cake, and can sometimes tolerate a banana-nut muffin, but they have no place in my strawberry-raspberry smoothies and they are intolerably smushy on their own. SHUDDER.
I have done a lot of super random jobs at least once: Iāve been a chemist, taught ballet to 6 year olds and figure skating to teens with special needs, charity auctioneer, corn shucker, lighting booth operator, teaching assistant, princess, storyteller, tutor, dining hall worker, medical transcriptionist, editor, corporate recruiter, automated tutorial/phone recording voice, corporate trainer, historical docent, term paper writer, contortionist, martial arts event coordinator, bookseller, video game voice, snake venom analyst (really that and perfumer were subsets of being a chemist, but, worth the callouts), thereās more but like, the list is long and random.
Last time I was in the airport a kid told me I was eating string cheese wrong. I told him thatās how string cheese is eaten on Mars. I recognize none of this make sense, it was 5 AM.
Iām gonna tag @han-panā, @karalijaā, @mylittlecornerofotomeā aaaand @jane-runs-fastā! No obligation >>;;;
2017 Creator Tag
(tagged by @dear-mrs-otomeā and @wonky-glass-ornamentā)
Rules: Itās time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favorite works youāve created this year (fics, art, edits, etc!) and link them below (say why if you want) to reflect on the amazing things youāve brought into the world in 2017. Tag as many writers/artists/etc as you want (fan or original!) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works. <3
Six Wins and Draw This mostly gets to be here because it had a bunch of characters I had never written before! It was fun to write just a quick few paragraphs (if that) for them. Iād like to do something like this again, because it was much easier than trying to force something standalone for a group Iām not as comfortable with the characterization on.
Compliments I really like fluff. I like communication, and silliness, and sweetness. @juniperotomeā helped tremendously with this piece, but it really turned out to be one of my favs. I actually prefer this to Burn Down, which was fun and which I do like and was the other contender for this slot, but when I put them side by side, I like this one.
THE WAFFLE COTTAGE CHRONICLESĀ (thereās more) This had been rattling in my head since 2016, but I didnāt post this until January 2017. This was my first headcanon shoving ALL OF THE LORDS into a single story. I recognize that it is very American-mindset-centric, but the sheer satisfaction of brain-dumping the beast was cathartic.I wrote 5000+ words in bullet point form in One Single Sitting and just, it was fun. I still think this is hilarious, even if it has issues.
Lick Your Wounds I still have lingering problems with this piece. And thereās a sort of dual fact thing going on - it could be so much better, but it is also the best that I have done, imo. Those are both facts to me. At this point, itās a very frustrating piece to deal with XD but even when I am not entirely happy with it, I am very happy and very veryĀ touched by the response it has gotten, and so it gets a place. #makepuppyhappy
Scraps UGH THIS FIFTH SLOT. I mean. Thereās no question this goes to a Kai group piece. I love writing the Kai group, itās the most comfortable and it comes the most easily. I donāt like writing modern aus but they just sort of vomit out with these characters in a very love-hate way (I love that they have the opportunity to be happy without the specter of history looming, thatās about it ā itās complicated to explain).Ā

Top 3 Warlords in order: Sasuke Nobunaga Kenshin
Favorite Moment in the game so far OH MAN. HMM. I am going to be unoriginal and echo Mrs O ā Nobunaga being a matchmaking troll is A+, but I do also love KEnshin and Shingenās letter to Nobunaga in the ES where MC starts with them but falls in love with Nobu and they are basically like, be nice to her and let her come visit or DEATH TO YOU
Who has the best hair Masamune (Shingen & Hideyoshi have the worst /sigh)
Which voice do you like the most? MRS O I SWEAR I AM NOT COPYING but Kenshin/Mitsuhide are flat tied. Whispery and low, swoooon
Who do you think you are most compatible with? None of āem. I enjoy watching their romance unfold with story MC, but as actual self, there are zero combos that would work out favorably for both parties based on what Iāve seen so far.
Which warlord appeals to your aesthetics? Sasuke. Dude. Sasuke. Ā
Which warlord makes you the most frustrated? Hmmm! Tough to say. Maybe Kennyo? Only because itās seems from what weāve seen that he is very much going against himself for some reason, and itās hurting him and that is silly. Donāt do that.
Who would you swear loyalty to, the Oda forces, the Uesugi-Takeda forces, or Third Party forces? NNNNNGH. Oda. If I HAD to. Only because thereās a stronger sense of long-term stability and history. But ideally, none of the above. I would be NEUTRAL TERRITORY opening up a little seamstress shop somewhere in the middle that also serves tea and everyone is welcome to come have snacks, tea and fittings but only if they donāt fight XD (or at least take it outside, and no one dies)
BONUS: Mrs Oās Q: If you had to tell one warlord what happened to them in your own original timeline, who would it be and why? Nobunaga. Because what happened to him canāt yet come to pass in his timeline, so itās moot. Heās shown to accept knowledge with aplomb so I donāt think it would send him into an existential spiral. He could handle it.
My question for anyone who does this ā Which lord would make the best roommate?
Music Tag
(tagged byĀ @skullbygloy100ā @dear-mrs-otomeā @wonky-glass-ornamentā)

Nowhere to run by Boga
Todo Comienza En La Disco by Wisin ft. Yandel & Daddy YankeeĀ

Hoo boy... People are going to haaaate me for that Yan-Sim post but... *shrugs* crediting is important I'm just not completely strict about it. Like, I think about it as if it were my own art and I just know that I wouldn't care... Not that the artist's feelings aren't justified, I just feel like this has gotten too serious for what it was....
